REAL Condiments: Cultured Ketchup, Mustard & Mayo…aka, “If you love your children, make the ketchup!”

Saturday, October 31 . 9:30am-12 noon . Silver Spring, MD

I am  passionate about condiments.
Why Condiments, you ask? Because nearly every kid in America eats ketchup, mustard, or mayo every day…and while they USED TO BE good for you, NOW, organic or not, they are merely SUGAR (ketchup), VINEGAR (mustard) or FAT–and UNHEALTHY fat, at that (mayo).
Making your own condiments is a very easy way to make a BIG DIFFERENCE in your child’s and your family’s health…

$55 per person in advance; $65 per person at the door

And if you can’t make it to class, BUY MY DVD which will teach you how to make delicious, nutritious, healthy, cultured ketchup, mustard, and mayo in your own kitchen!

The Complete Protein Dance:

Properly Preparing Legumes and Whole Grains for Easy Digestion*

Saturday, October 17 . 9:30am-12 noon . Bethesda, MD

The current USDA food pyramid suggests we eat a lot of whole grains.

What they haven’t told you is how to prepare them so that they are both digestible AND delicious. All grains contain phytic acid, which can block the absorption of minerals important to every body: calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc. Eating a lot of whole grains that have not been soaked can lead to serious mineral deficiencies and bone loss. Grains also contain enzyme inhibitors which must be neutralized by proper soaking techniques.

What about BEANS? Beans present the same challenges as GRAINS, (phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors…)but instead of complex proteins, they have complex carbbohydrates that must be broken down before you cook them…or you will end up with gas, bloating and gastric distress! We’ve all experienced beans that have not been soaked well!

Come and learn simple, traditional techniques to prepare whole grains and beans and ensure you are getting the nutrients you need!

*For everyone who has taken this class with me in the past 3 years, THROW OUT your old soaking charts, and come at 1/2 price to this session! I will be teaching NEW soaking methods for beans THAT HAVE NOT BEEN TAUGHT BEFORE!
